Sometimes called aluminum utility wire or aluminum cable, this single-conductor aluminum wire helps secure conductors to pin insulators on a distribution pole.

Insulated aluminum tie wire features a single conductor insulated with high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE), providing excellent moisture and abrasion resistance. This wire is direct burial rated, sunlight resistant, and suitable for installation in wet and dry locations up to 75°C.

KrisTech’s aluminum tie wire meets the following standards and tests, including:

  • ASTM B-230 for an aluminum conductor
  • ASTM D-1248 for Polyethylene
  • ICEA S-70-547, ICEA S-61-402/NEMA WC5 and ICEA S95-658/NEMA WC70 for cable construction
  • Spark tested at 7500 VAC

  • Conductors – Single conductors are a concentrically stranded 1350-H19 aluminum alloy.
  • Insulation – Conductors are insulated with a concentrically applied LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene). An optional HDPE (high-density polyethylene) is available on request.
