Service drop and secondary distribution lines are the final step of delivering generated power to homes, businesses, and other locations. These lines can be installed either overhead or underground.

Tie wire ensures conductors stay where they’re supposed to be without too much sway. Without them, electric power lines could disconnect from their insulators, potentially touching nearby lines, trees, and other objects.

Grounding wire completes electrical circuits if the neutral wire fails during a surge, fault, or other mishap. In the case of a power surge, grounding wire allows electricity to safely make its way to earth.
