KrisTech’s horizontal directional drilling (HDD) wire is a single conductor with a thick protective coating of PVC insulation surrounding it. It is 600 V rated and can operate safely in wet or dry locations ranging from -25°C TO 75°C.

HDD wire provides reliable electrical signals from the steering tool to the bore head during directional drilling. The wire runs inside of the drill string and transmits pertinent information about the angle, rotation, direction, and temperature of the drilling head as it digs.

  • Sizes #10 AWG through #6 AWG
  • Solid or stranded configurations

KrisTech’s HDD wire meets the following standards and tests, including:

  • ASTM B-1, B-3, and B-8

  • Conductors – Single conductors are available in solid or stranded and annealed or hardened uncoated copper configurations.
  • Insulation – Conductors are insulated with a concentrically applied PVC (polyvinyl chloride).

Print legends on the wire include the manufacturer, conductor size, voltage rating, UL symbol (if applicable) and type designation. Standard length spools are 500 or 2,500 feet.
