Tracer Wire

When it isn’t possible to dig an open trench, either due to landscape or aesthetic reasons, horizontal directional drilling offers crews a safe, cost-effective, and less intrusive option.

Workers can easily and efficiently install underground assets, including pipes, cables, or tunnels, without impacting the surface landscape. That means no need for long trenches, no damaged roadways, and less local disruption.

During this process, old underground pipes are broken using a bursting head dragged by a pipe bursting wire. The new pipe is often installed simultaneously, immediately replacing the old one as the bursting head breaks it apart.

Tracer wire can be used in a variety of pet containment systems, thanks to its rugged, durable HMWPE insulation.

A wire is buried underground to create a boundary line, then connected to a transmitter that emits a radio signal. If a pet approaches the boundary line while wearing a receiver collar, the collar will pick up the transmitter signal and alert them.
