Description

Covered Line Wire is an uninsulated transformer wire providing excellent mechanical, abrasion, moisture, chemical and oil resistance.

The single copper conductors come in either solid or stranded, with annealed or hard, uncoated copper. Though HMWPE insulation is not considered an electrical insulation, it does reduce Covered Line Wire faults due to atmospheric conditions, vibrations, and crossed leads.

Application

Covered Line Wire is used in secondary distribution lines, which carry lower voltage than primary distribution lines. It must be treated as a bare conductor during insulation because its HMWPE insulation is not considered electrical insulation.

The HWMPE insulation found on Covered Line Wire protects the cable from corrosion, oxidation, and other damage. This insulation is also abrasion and chemical resistant, making it a suitable choice for installation in outdoor and wet environments.
