Applications & Use Cases
Durable, easy to install, and designed to perform in tough environments, tray cable is a great choice for industrial applications. Its jacket and insulation help protect conductors from chemicals and damage from sunlight, and the wire has a UL 1277 flame resistance rating.
Tray cable is built for harsh environments, including Class I, Division 2 applications where contact with chemicals and gases is common. The cable is also flexible and can handle vibrations, which may be present in areas with large engines, compressors, or pumps.
Electrical cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power or CHP) plants are often high-temperature locations, but tray cable is capable of operating safely at temperatures as high as 90°C. Tray cable also works well in tight spots, with multiple conductors tucked away from machines, boilers, and other equipment.
Hospitals contain many sensitive electronics. Tray cable shielding reduces the threat of electromagnetic interference (EMI) from power cables that could impact their performance. Additional tray cable features, like Low Smoke Zero Halogen jackets, help reduce smoke and toxic gas formation that could cause visibility and breathing issues during an emergency.
