KrisTech Scares Up Smiles at Annual Rome Trick-or-Treat Event

What happens when you combine the cast of a beloved children’s TV show, a clear and crisp fall evening, and hundreds of kids dressed as their favorite characters? 

You get Rome’s annual Fright Night at Franklyn’s Field event! 

KrisTech Wire joined more than a dozen other local businesses and community organizations to hand out candy, enjoy food truck fare, watch Hotel Transylvania under a waning gibbous moon, and take in all the sights and sounds of spooky season. And while there was plenty of candy for the throngs of kids attending, the Jervis Public Library made the event even sweeter with their book giveaway.

Takin' it to the (Sesame) Street

Members of the KrisTech CARES Team dressed up as their favorite Sesame Street characters, including Cookie Monster, Grover, Big Bird, Bert, and Oscar the Grouch. KrisTech’s talented design team, Geanna Fezza and Glenn Rothe, once again came through, building the iconic front stoop at 123 Sesame Street. 

“Fright Night is one of my favorite nights of the year because it shows exactly who we are as a company,” Director of Employee Engagement Wendy Calabrese said. “Every year our CARES Team finds a new way to amaze people, and this year's trip to Sesame Street was no exception. Seeing those smiles and hearing families thank us reminds me that being part of this community is a privilege. Giving back isn't something we do once in a while at KrisTech; it's part of who we are.” 

But Fright Night is more than a singular event for the CARES Team. It’s a city-wide tradition everyone looks forward to, offering children and families a safe place to trick-or-treat, unwind, and get into the holiday spirit. 

“It's always heartening to attend community events like Fright Night,” Quality Manager David Albright said. "We always love seeing the local community come out to celebrate holidays like this with us."

An Annual Tradition

Fright Night at Franklyn’s Field is one of the KrisTech CARES Team’s premier events, allowing members to flex their creative muscles. Previously, team members dressed up as Disney characters, superheroes (complete with a Gotham City backdrop), and SpongeBob SquarePants characters. 

“I couldn't be prouder of our CARES Team,” Calabrese explained. “They give their own time, creativity, and so much heart to make this night special for Rome's kids and families. That spirit of showing up for our neighbors is what sets KrisTech apart.”
