The Letter R

Resistance
In DC circuits, the opposition a material has to a current, measured in omhs. In AC circuits, resistance is the real component of impedence and may be higher than the value measured at DC.

RHW/RHW-2
Rubber-insulating building wire, heat and moisture-resistant. The standard RHW product has a temperature rating of 75°C dry or wet, while RHW-2 version has a rating of 90°C dry or wet.


RoHS
Restriction of Hazardous Substances. An environmental regulation that limits the amount of six substances in products including lead, cadmium, mercury, Hexavalent Chromium, PBB and PBDE.
