UF

Scope:

Single conductor polyvinylchloride (PVC) insulated, 600-volt, type UF. This product is suitable for continuous service in direct burial, wet and dry locations, 60°C and 600 volts. This product complies with EU Directive 2002/95/EC known as ROHS.

Applicable Standards and Tests:

• ASTM B-1, B-3, B-8 for Copper conductors
• UL 493 for underground feeder and branch circuit cable
• UL 83 for thermoplastic insulated wire
• NEC 339
• Electrical and mechanical tests shall be in accordance with UL 1581 and UL 493.
• Products are spark tested at 7500 VAC unless otherwise specified

Construction:

Conductors:

The single copper conductors shall be solid or stranded annealed or hard uncoated copper per UL83 and ASTM requirements.

Insulation:

Concentrically applied Polyvinylchloride (PVC) insulation in accordance with UL83. The minimum at any point shall not be less than 90% of the specified average thickness in compliance with UL 493.

Identification and Packaging:

The wire shall be identified by surface marking indicating the manufacturer, conductor size, voltage rating, UL symbol, and type designation. 500 and 2500 ft. spools are standard, custom lengths, color, and packaging is available by request.
