Saying you make an impact in your community is one thing—getting others to say it for you is another.

Recently, the Salvation Army honored Kris-Tech Wire with its Copper City Community Spirit Award. The annual honor recognizes a company’s continuous commitment to supporting and uplifting its community through service, dedication, volunteerism, and a passion for improving lives.

Kris-Tech Wire received the Salvation Army's Copper City Community Spirit Award.Other honorees during the annual Civic Breakfast included Walmart of Rome receiving the Heart of Rome Award and Bill Fleet, who received the “Others” award, named after a one-word telegram from Salvation Army founder, General William Booth.

People have been the cornerstone of our company since its founding in 1984, helping us stay grounded and focused even when everything around us changes.

From participating in the annual Rome Honor America Days parade and Halloween Fright Night events to countless Salvation Army food and coat drives, tornado relief efforts, and event sponsorships, Kris-Tech has remained steadfast in its support of others.

Committed to Community

But none of these projects and donations would be possible if it weren’t for the deep-rooted community culture Kris-Tech had developed over the years.

“Every team member plays a vital role in shaping the culture of generosity we cherish,” Director of Employee Engagement Wendy Calabrese said. “Their willingness to step up and contribute shows that we are more than just a company; we are a family. I vividly remember the day our team volunteered at our Dine and Drive event during the COVID-19 pandemic. We gave over $50,000 worth of gift cards to local restaurants, and in turn, people brought food donations—we helped collect 2-3 months of provisions for the Salvation Army. Seeing the smiles on the faces of those whom we helped reminded us why we do what we do. It’s not just about donations; it’s about building relationships and making a tangible difference in people’s lives.”

Kris-Tech team members pose with their award. As Kris-Tech expands into new cities and communities, our commitment to the communities we call home remains clear. We’re proud to be good neighbors and firmly believe that creating and nurturing deep, impactful relationships makes everyone stronger.

“Our strength lies in our people and the relationships we build within our community, Calabrese explained. “Each donation we’ve made reflects our commitment to supporting those around us. We are committed to strengthening our community ties and inspiring others to do the same. Together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and support that reaches far beyond our immediate surroundings.”
