Bueno, s\u00ed lo es, pero hay varias ventajas de rendimiento a considerar al usar XHHW que superan el ahorro de costes que obtendr\u00eda al tender THHN.  <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aqu\u00ed tiene algunas de ellas:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>El XHHW-2 est\u00e1 clasificado hasta 90 \u00b0C tanto en ambientes h\u00famedos como secos. El THHN est\u00e1 clasificado hasta 90 \u00b0C <em>solo en ambientes secos<\/em>. El THHN\/THWN de doble clasificaci\u00f3n tiene una clasificaci\u00f3n de 75 \u00b0C en ambientes h\u00famedos. La cubierta de nailon de 0,004\u201d del THHN es hidrosc\u00f3pica (es decir, absorbe la humedad), lo que proh\u00edbe su uso en lugares h\u00famedos a cualquier temperatura.   <\/li><li>El XHHW-2 est\u00e1 aislado con polietileno reticulado (XLPE), que proporciona un valor de constante diel\u00e9ctrica (k) que suele oscilar entre 2,2 y 3,0 megaohmios a 20 \u00b0C. Esto es aproximadamente <em>la mitad<\/em> del valor de la combinaci\u00f3n de PVC\/Nailon en el producto THHN. Esto da como resultado una reducci\u00f3n de las fugas, lo que proporciona un rendimiento de aislamiento superior. <\/li><li>Como material termoestable, el XLP(E) tiene una mayor estabilidad en entornos con temperaturas variables. Resiste mejor el flujo a temperaturas m\u00e1s altas y el agrietamiento a temperaturas m\u00e1s bajas que los materiales termopl\u00e1sticos comparables, como el PVC (policloruro de vinilo), que se utiliza en el THHN. <\/li><\/ul><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El cable XHHW es recomendado por la industria de distribuci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica para aplicaciones en edificios comerciales, industriales e institucionales. El Art\u00edculo 310 del C\u00f3digo El\u00e9ctrico Nacional (NEC) describe las aplicaciones e instalaci\u00f3n espec\u00edficas para este producto. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por lo tanto, aseg\u00farese de tener tanto el producto <em>correcto<\/em> como el <em>mejor<\/em> producto para el trabajo. La pregunta\/comentario original fue: <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es necesario instalar este cable trazador? \u00bfNecesitamos instalar cable trazador para tuber\u00edas met\u00e1licas? La tuber\u00eda met\u00e1lica ya es un conductor. Entiendo usarlo para tuber\u00edas de pl\u00e1stico, \u00bfpero para tuber\u00edas met\u00e1licas? \u00bfC\u00f3mo se instala este cable trazador en tuber\u00edas enterradas?\u201d<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La respuesta de Dave, nuestro presidente, es la siguiente:<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c[Utilizamos cable trazador] Para localizar conductos enterrados utilizados en una de muchas aplicaciones como el\u00e9ctricas, de agua, alcantarillado, fibra y otras (que no se nos ocurrieron).\u201d<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bfRecuerda los d\u00edas de llamar al tipo con una retroexcavadora, dos ayudantes, un pico y una pala, y comenzar su trabajo con \u201cCreo que est\u00e1 por aqu\u00ed en alg\u00fan lugar&#8230;\u201d Esto generalmente resultaba en una zanja grande e innecesaria, y probablemente alg\u00fan da\u00f1o al conducto o al \u00e1rea circundante. Afortunadamente, esos d\u00edas han quedado atr\u00e1s.  <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los sistemas de localizaci\u00f3n modernos utilizan se\u00f1ales, a diferencia del voltaje, para localizar conductos met\u00e1licos y no met\u00e1licos enterrados. El sistema generalmente consiste en un transmisor de se\u00f1al conectado al extremo expuesto del cable trazador\/localizador (generalmente en una sala de aparamenta o un elevador exterior), que funciona como una antena. En aplicaciones el\u00e9ctricas, esto elimina la necesidad de que un contratista emplee un equipo costoso para desenergizar el sistema el\u00e9ctrico y conectarse a las l\u00edneas enterradas. Una vez que se elimina el peligro el\u00e9ctrico, se puede utilizar un servicio interno o de localizaci\u00f3n por contrato sin riesgo.   <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al decidir si el coste del cable localizador proporciona un retorno aceptable, hay algunas consideraciones b\u00e1sicas, como:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es el coste de una interrupci\u00f3n del servicio? \u00bfSe reduce mediante una localizaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida? <\/li><li>\u00bfCu\u00e1les son los costes de mi equipo de localizaci\u00f3n: retroexcavadora? \u00bfEquipo? \u00bfCamiones?  <\/li><li>\u00bfSe debe esperar que el cable localizador tenga la misma vida \u00fatil que el conducto? (\u00a1Mant\u00e9ngase alejado del THHN con revestimiento de nailon; no se entierran tuber\u00edas de nailon por una raz\u00f3n!) <\/li><li>\u00bfPodemos mejorar el tiempo de respuesta con un servicio de localizaci\u00f3n? La localizaci\u00f3n es lo que hacen; \u00a1pueden tener recomendaciones! <\/li><\/ul><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo se instalan estos sistemas localizadores? Dependiendo de sus circunstancias, el cable localizador puede tenderse en una zanja por encima del conducto, introducirse con una m\u00e1quina zanjadora o instalarse mediante perforaci\u00f3n direccional. Solo el usuario final conoce las condiciones del lugar de trabajo y del sistema que determinan el m\u00e9todo. Se aplican diferentes tipos y tama\u00f1os de cable a cada m\u00e9todo de instalaci\u00f3n espec\u00edfico.   <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El cable trazador\/localizador de enterramiento directo proporciona una p\u00f3liza de seguro fiable, de bajo coste y bajo riesgo para el plan de infraestructura de una empresa de servicios p\u00fablicos. \u201c<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00bfCu\u00e1n \u201cbajo coste\u201d? Dependiendo de los costes del cobre y del tama\u00f1o del conductor, el cable localizador\/trazador de cobre t\u00edpico puede costar entre 10 y 20 c\u00e9ntimos por pie.
