The Letter F

Filler
Nonconducting components cabled with the insulated conductors to impart roundness, flexibility, tensile strength, or a combination of all three, to the cable.

Flame Resistance
The ability of a material to not progate flame once the heat source is removed.

Flammability
The measure of a material's ability to support combustion.


Flexibility
The ease with which a cable can be bent.

Flexible
The quality of a wire or cable that allows for bending under the influence of an outside forec, as opposed to limpness that is bending due to the cable's own weight.

Fluoropolymer
A class of polymers used as insulating and jacketing materials. Common ones include Kynar and Halar.
